The foundation builds software so that communities can own themselves. There is no membership to apply for — you take part by using it, and there are four ways in.
Run your own page or site
Reading a community and taking part in one costs nothing, anywhere on the platform. Creating something of your own — a page, a site, or as many domains as you like under a single control panel — runs on a subscription to that panel, sold by a regional representative: shopnseo.ru for commerce and search, qwetru.ru for writers and bloggers. They publish the figures for their market. Building it is a separate question: do it yourself in the panel, or pay one of the studios working with the platform — kb77.ru and others — a one-off fee to install and set it up for you.
Run the platform yourself
The Server tier puts the whole platform on a machine of your own, and it is aimed at organisations building a space of their own — blogs, forums, sites for projects and for people, inside one system they control. Normally it goes on hosting you already have and stays your infrastructure. Decide which side fits what you are building — commerce (shopnseo.com) or writers and bloggers (qwetru.com) — and the price is agreed case by case with the regional representative serving your market. Inside your installation you hand out the tiers below Server to your own people. The advertising is sold by you and the revenue stays with you, whoever hosts the machine; the software is ours, the community and the money are yours. This is the arrangement the foundation exists to make ordinary.
Build on it as a studio
Web studios can run client projects on the platform without any infrastructure of their own: the site goes on the customer's hosting, the studio charges a one-off fee for installing and setting it up, and the customer then pays for panel access directly to the regional representative. Three studios already do this, each covering one part of the job — design, development, content; see the platform and live sites. The number is not capped, and studios in other languages and markets are welcome: nothing about the platform is tied to one region.
Offer it as a hosting company
If you sell VPS plans, the Server tier turns a virtual machine into a product: your customers get a ready-to-run community platform they can monetize, and you get a reason for them to stay. Details are on the platform's partner page.
